Quote:

"OKAY, who ate my flip flop!?
I'm going to point the blame on Sammy, that's my guess."

"I'm going to point the blame on Sammy, too,
because I walked in and he was knee deep in flop."

Salad Day

Today started off pretty miserable. I set my alarm and actually forgot to TURN IT ON, so I slept in way later than I had planned. The dogs were wild this morning, wanting to play and bark and play and run and bark, and since I am still recovering from that horrendous 5-day cold I wanted nothing of it. And then I remembered......

....it was Salad Day at work.

You read that right. Salad Day. My company likes to do these little group lunches and food days and today's theme was "Salad". There are a lot more things that can go into a salad than you would think, and I had forgotten to pick up my contribution.

So here I was, half asleep, half showered, half dressed, carrying three rowdy dogs into their cages, so that I could rush out the door to pick up some salad dressing for SALAD DAY.

It was not a good morning. And a close friend of mine turned to me and said exactly what I was thinking, "WTF is a Salad Day? No one is full after eating a salad."

Since he was having a bad day as well, we decided that no good could come of Salad Day.

So from here on out, if I'm having a bad day, it's going to be deemed "Salad Day".

Meggie and Brie came over tonight. And true to form, we took photos and sang songs.

Aren't best friends great?!

The big sister

No one is more excited than Jasmine to have baby Avery in the house. Jazzy was one of those little girls who wished for a baby brother or sister. And now that he's arrived, she is much less stressed out, playing constantly, and happily falling into that big sister role.

They play together constantly while Sam slumps in my office to get some shut eye.

I remember the way I felt when I first got a little brother, too. My little brother came by marriage so at fifteen I gained an eleven-year-old sibling. It was quite a change of pace for me because I now had to share the bathroom, computer, and telephone and sometimes it felt like the house was not big enough for the two of us. But even so, I loved him so very much.

That must be how Jasmine feels about Avery.
