Remnants of a sunshower
Although the sun was out as I exited the building and began my drive home, the sky soon turned to black clouds and the rain followed. We had planned on going to the dog park for a run (they would run, we would watch) and hitting a McDonald's drive-thru on the way home. Since it was pouring and our chances of going to the park looked slim, I took the liberty of picking up some cheeseburgers and milkshakes so we wouldn't have to cook.
But the sun came out as I edged closer to home. Great! Perfect weather for photographing flowers! And I noticed a new patch of lilies in the backyard this morning. I ran inside, dropped the fast food off in a smiling Sean's lap, changed out of my heels and into jeans, and headed outside to photograph the garden.
I ended up soaking wet from kneeling in the grass for an hour, and I took just over four hundred and fifty photos. Here are ten of them.
Sean is crashed out on the couch now. He was watching Planet of the Apes. If you ask me, it is almost impossible for anyone to stay awake during that movie. Sean says, "It's a CLASSIC!"
I say it's a classic all right...a classic sleeping pill.
Have I mentioned that I love working an early shift?

Tracing our daily walk route
When I want to ask Sean if we should take the dogs for a walk I have to spell, "Do you want to go for a W-A-L-K?" Tonight when I spelled, Sam jumped up and stood right in my lap because he heard me say "Do you want to go..." and that was all he needed. I laugh when they know our terminology.
For instance, "YOU DO?" means "GET EXCITED DOGGIES! WE'RE GOING SOMEWHERE FUN!". There have been plenty of times when I said something like, "Hey Sean, do you want pizza for dinner?" and couldn't hear his response. When I answer, "Babe, you do?" the dogs go wild. And then I have to take them for a car ride around the block because it was my fault for saying the magic words.
I'm training a new employee at work this week which means I get to come home at 5 o'clock. It's amazing to take our night walks when the sun is still out. I'm baffled that I am home and it's not even eight and I've got a whole half hour more of daylight!
So we took the dogs for a walk and watched a TiVo'd episode of Living Lohan.
Which reminds me. On my way to work this morning, I saw one of those ribbon bumper stickers... you know, the ones that usually say Support our Troops? Well this particular ribbon on this woman's car said, Support Flirting. I'm not kidding.
Here are some pictures from our walk:
I have a feeling that this blog unintentionally turned into a dog blog a long time ago. But hopefully, since you're still reading, you don't mind too much. Actually, I don't think that this blog turned into a dog blog...I think our LIFE turned into a dog. Or two. Soon to be three. :)

Priceless
We're exhausted by Sunday afternoons. The stress of the work week has caught up to us and we both generally fall asleep for most of the day. Sean mowed the lawn and immediately crashed on the floor.
I'm about to join him in three...two...one...
To her it's one big water bowl.
Taking a bath is much more entertaining when you invite a golden retriever to join you.
Jasmine HAS to be in the bathroom if I am in the shower or taking a bath. She bathes vicariously through me and only feels clean if she's there to lick the shower curtain.
My favorite part is when she gets caught in the shower curtain.
